Is There A Quick Way To Determine The Risk For Serious Foot Problems Related To Diabetes?

You can ask your Podiatrist to check your feet. If you have pulses present in your feet, good sensation, no foot deformities, and no history of foot ulcer or amputation, you can assume you are in a low-risk category.

If, however, you have poor circulation, loss of sensation, a foot deformity (such as a bunion or hammertoe), or a history of previous foot ulcer, or you have had part of your foot amputated, you are a high risk patient. If you have more than one of these problems, your risk for future trouble increases drastically, and you need to take extra precautions.

We have HICAPS available in our clinic, which means that our patients can claim from their private health fund straight away
