Meet the Team @ Narelle Montgomery Podiatry
Our Sutherland Podiatrists
Narelle graduated from the Sydney Institute of Technology in 1988. Narelle has worked for other private clinics in Burwood, Newcastle and Cronulla and also at St George and Canterbury Hospitals. She started Narelle Montgomery Podiatry in 1994 and has built up the practice so it is now the biggest in Sutherland and surrounding areas. She has done multiple lectures in the Shire on foot care for Seniors and Carers.Narelle has been known to travel extensively for conferences and courses to enhance her podiatry skills (and we think her shopping skills!). Her areas of interest are Children’s Foot Conditions, Trigger Point Therapy, Biomechanics and General Foot care.
Carissa graduated from the Sydney Institute of Technology in 1993. After working in her own private practice in Wollongong for six years, she moved overseas and completed her Bachelor of Science (Podiatry Major) at Queen Margaret University in Edinburgh, Scotland in 2001. As you can see she also has travelled to enhance her skills and be an accomplice with Narelle’s shopping expeditions. Her special areas of interest are Paediatrics, Biomechanics, Acupuncture and different problems relating to Diabetic patients.
Shelby grew up in the Central coast and spent much of her 20’s travelling overseas. When she returned to Australia she had an extensive career with Disability, Aged and Youth Services. Later she has retrained as a Podiatrist at Newcastle University. Since Shelby started with us in 2009, she has added Acupuncture and Trigger Point Therapy to her resume, so she is wicked with a needle. Her special areas of interest are Biomechanics, Diabetic Foot care, of course Acupuncture and Trigger Point therapy.
Chloe Abbott (Podiatrist)
Chloe graduated with honours from Queensland University of Technology in 2008. She has worked in the Shire since her graduation, and in 2010 has begun a Medical Degree at Sydney University. Chloe continues to work as a Podiatrist whilst studying and enjoys combining the two areas to provide a well rounded treatment plan for her patients. Thankfully Chloe is very patient with all the medical questions the team likes to throw at her all the time. Her special interests are Biomechanics, Sports Medicine and General Foot care.
Phillip Newling (Podiatrist)
Phillip is another Podiatrist who has relocated from the central coast to join the NMP team. Phillip graduated from Newcastle University and has a keen interest in Diabetic Foot management, biomechanics, nail surgeries and footwear, withe previous work experience at The Athlete’s Foot. He has been a great asset to our team, with a wicked sense of humour, that we have all enjoyed. Phillip enjoys surfing and playing basketball when he is not busy working hard.
Ngaire Hamilton (Podiatrist)
Ngaire graduated from the Sydney Institute of Technology in 1989, and has had an extensive career private practice and at Sutherland Hospital. She also consults to the Department of Veterans Affairs and lectures to the students at the University of Western Sydney and Newcastle University. Her areas of interest are with Diabetic Footcare, Sports Podiatry and Seniors footcare.
Hannah McMath (Podiatrist)
Hannah graduated fro Auckland University in New Zealand, then after moving to Australia decided to pursue her studies further completing a Masters Degree in Podiatry.
Hannah’s areas of special interest are biomechanics, along with Diabetic foot management and general footcare. In her spare time Hannah is actively involved in long distance running, tennis and netball.
Our Administration Team
Ruth is our Practice Manager, and heart and soul of NMP. She has been a Practice Manager for 2 very busy Medical Clinics at Chullora and West Ryde, so she is used to dealing with deadlines and stress!! If you have any problems, Ruth is the person to deal with, as she often says ‘ the buck stops with me’!
Sue is our head receptionist. She has been with us for the last few years, after coming back into the workforce having raised her two children. Sue’s background has been secretarial, but wanted to do something different and had an interest in the medical field, so we are fortunate she chose us. A keen soccer player, we also dread Mondays to see how many bruises she received on the weekend matches!
Helen recently joined our team, with extensive medical reception experience, she has slotted in nicely to the sometimes chaotic front reception area. A very proud grandmother, she delights in all the small children ( and big children) that come into our clinic.
